Description

Petrify is the easiest way to convert source code into images on Mac. Get your source code into Petrify, customize the image, and export it anywhere.

Petrify features:
- Easily drag source code onto the Dock icon.
- Send code to Petrify through the Services menu.
- Drag generated images into Finder, apps or social media.
- Instant image creation.
- Syntax highlighting.
- Multiple themes.
- Multiple fonts.
- Customizable background colors.

Note that generating images from text is detrimental for people with visual impairment. It also prevents your readers from copy-pasting your snippet into their work. Consider alternatives in the form of regular code blocks with syntax highlighting for websites, adding an image description, or linking to the code in plain text.

Love it

Looks very clean, great app - Awesome for building tutorials or creating blog posts. Syntax highlighting supports a lot of languages.

Thanks for your review!

Do keep in mind that images aren't easily accessible to people with visual impairment. They won't be able to fully read your tutorials or blog posts if you don't offer an alternative (like a link to the code in a Gist). There are even ways to get Carbon-like syntax highlighting to your sites without generating an image. Might be worth a look!

Best app to use if you want to explain some peace of code to anyone.

No pure white theme

None of the themes have a pure white background for the code. Therefore, there is a slightly gray tinge when printing snippets on paper. I'm forced to pull the carbon source code from Git, to then manually create a theme. If developers add the white them, I will add five stars - it's just, for my use-case, falls short.

Developer Response ,

Hi there, thanks for contacting me. You can actually customize themes and set the background color to white that way.

Scroll all the way up in the themes dropdown and select 'Create +' at the top of the list. Then select Background and set it to FFFFFF.

If you need any more help, feel free to contact me through support@dangercove.com and I can send you a screenshot.

I'd greatly appreciate it if you could update your review when this fixes the issue you're experiencing. Thanks!
